The first two days of the Republican Convention are now over. Each night was to have a specific theme but that didn't happen. It has been wall to wall Hillary Clinton is an evil maniacal monster that should be put in prison. Hellfire is raining down on America and only Trump has an asbestos umbrella, not enough room for all of us, but the special will be saved. This is the most negative convention I've seen in my lifetime and I'm a political junkie who always watches them. This one is excruciatingly painful. Only Tiffany Trump, his daughter by Marla Maples, gave a positive humanizing speech about Donald Trump. Very few speakers have spoken glowingly about Donald Trump and laid out a case for why he would be a good President. There has been no case made based on policies. It has been disorganized and amateurshly managed. Trump is so pompous and narcissistic he has made an appearance every night. Donald Trump is looking for a Vice-president. Given the overall stink which surrounds him you might think it would be tough to find someone, but it won't be. The lure of being President in waiting since Trump's helter skelter brain could potentially lead to his removal from office, is just too great. Lots of auditions are taking place, just like a reality show. I'm hoping for Gary Busey. Over the weekend the three names being heavily discussed, which means Trump himself leaked it to the press, is Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich and Indiana Governor Mike Pence. Let's start with Governor Christie. He's hated in his home state of New Jersey, he can't run again and wouldn't win anyway. He's effectively finished in elective politics so he would absolutely jump at the opportunity, he has nothing to lose. He also doesn't really bring  things to the ticket that Trump needs. I watched the ABC Republican Debate on Saturday night, unfortunately until they get down to two or three candidates left standing on the stage it's just not informative. It was fun to watch Chris Christie rip Marco Rubio to shreds. More interesting is to see that Rubio really does come across as a pod person. He is so programmed with his answers that they are not answers. It's one thing to be disciplined and stick to your message, it's quite another to appear incapable of thinking on your feet. I stand by my own analysis in contradiction to the talking heads prior to that debate, Rubio is not going to be the nominee and he will fizzle. New Hampshire votes tomorrow and I know you're on pins and needles waiting for my predictions. So it's game on. For the Republicans the order will be 1. Trump 2.Kasich 3. Bush 4.Rubio 5. Cruz. The Republican field is dwindling. Today Rand Paul and Rick Santorum dropped out. Santorum has now endorsed Rubio so that should settle everything, game over man. I would have preferred Paul stay in and Carson drop out but we don't always get what we want. Chris Christie is attacking Marco Rubio with the veracity of a Great White Shark chomping a bloody stump. Christie actually believes he has a chance of being the antidote to take out Trump and Cruz. He just doesn't want to face that his time came and went four years ago. The citizens of New Jersey despise him and he had to be goaded into returning there during the recent major winter storms. He's an obnoxious loudmouth who never left his bullyboy persona back in the sandbox. He is clearly auditioning to be the Vice-presidential pick. Every campaign needs a pit bull and it fits him like a glove. Think about it, he's going to need a job. He cannot run for governor again and wouldn't win if he could and they'll...

The Republican Party is officially scared of Donald Trump but they shouldn't be. Sure, if he gets the nomination they will once again lose the White House but that might actually be what needs to happen to reshape the party into a modern forward thinking ideology that can actually have appeal. Donald Trump is an anathema. Any other person would have already been driven out of the race for their frequent insults and fact challenged speeches. Fortunately for Trump his supporters don't care about his behavior, in fact it's why they're following him. They want his outrageousness. They want to hear his vitriolic assaults on those he dislikes and to listen to him bash entire cultures and nationalities. They are angry and  letting Trump be their blowhorn. The big question is will they actually vote for him when the caucuses and primaries begin? What does he actually stand for? Advancing the Trump name is the answer. New Jersey Governor and Presidential hopeful Chris Christie made his triumphant return to his favorite cable news show, Morning Joe, yesterday. Christie hasn't appeared on the program for awhile, I think it had something to do with dodging the press. But he need not worry cause they love him on that show. Softballs are the norm when he is on that set. Pushback, not. Christie is a highly skilled and commanding politician and doesn't allow reality to interfere with his narrative. He demanded and is still awaiting an apology from the press over Bridgegate because he has been cleared of wrongdoing. First, the press owes no apologies for covering the news. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced his bid for the Republican nomination for President today. It was a pretty good fiery speech ala Christie. He's gonna tell us like it is, not how we wanna hear it. He's not going to listen to his political advisors on how to answer questions. How refreshing and how mavericky, I do believe we've seen this show. Christie should have ran in 2012 when there were far more people who actually thought he had pizzazz and star quality. Now a staggering number of New Jersey citizens despise him. They, who know him best, say he shouldn't be President. The credit down grade of his state does not convey confidence in his economic stewardship.
