Did You Vote?

The General Election was yesterday, did you vote? Here are the top reasons I've heard throughout my life on why someone didn't vote. 1. There's no one decent running. (This is totally ridiculous, there is always a candidate that best reflects your views.) 2. My vote doesn't matter. (If everyone who uses this excuse showed up to vote they could completely shake up the process. In a close race your vote becomes even more crucial.) 3. I just don't have time. (Bullshit. If you live in a state that has early voting you certainly can't use this excuse. In the 12 hours the polls are open you can find a few minutes. If all else fails you vote absentee.) 4. I don't know where to vote. (If you haven't been told a hundred times by the candidates where to go, then check your registration card. If you have misplaced the card call your county election board and they will happily direct you.) 5. I don't want to be called for jury duty. (The majority of m

Sacrifice

After a lengthy absence from live performance I found my self wedged in a seat at Theater on the Square in Indianapolis. The production was "Sacrifice" , an original and first play from co-writers Marcus May and Caleb Nunez. Both have experience in short films and a life long love of the arts. The play is about racial tension between two families, one black and one Latino. Leading the Latino family is Ernesto, a building super who's wife was killed many years earlier by a young black male. Ernesto, engagingly played by Joe Vanegas, cannot let go of this life altering experience and as a result has a distrust of African Americans and a prejudice born of pain. His daughter Ana, played by Brittany Crone, views the world through a different lens, one of tolerance and acceptance of diversity. She tries to soften her father's views but to no avail. Enter the new tenants in the building, the black family father and son Antonio and Trey. When Trey meets Ana sparks begin

Weiner Savages P.T.S.D. Veteran

Conservatainer Michael Savage attacked one of his callers during a discussion concerning a recent suggestion in California that some tunnel be renamed after Robin Williams to highlight mental health awareness. The caller, a veteran suffering from P.T.S.D. , said he thought it was a good idea if it would help draw attention to mental health issues in this country. This angered Savage, most things do and he lit into the vet rapidly tearing him down and screeching that we don't need to focus on mental health in this country. He made a point of personally ripping this vet a new one and mocking his suffering. Savage told him he's not the only one with problems so boo hoo. He went on to say that mental health awareness is why we got Obama as President. Uh? For all of Savage's alleged formal education he says amazingly stupid things. Anyone who would call his show is clearly a fan, why shred one so unmercifully, particularly a veteran suffering from P.T.S.D. Which war was it
